September 18, 2016—TORONTO—The much anticipated Moon Festival at Woodbine Mall has put on two days of non-stop live entertainment and activities and was supported by patrons from all across the GTA. Despite of the drizzling autumn weather, the spirit of the celebration still shined bright.
The festival featured a spectacular mini concert by Ken Hung from Hong Kong, and local talent, the 11 year old Jeffrey Li from Let’s Sing Kids. The opening ceremony, was also joined by the Chairman of Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham, Dr. Ken Ng, MPP Hon. Michael Chan, MP Shaun Chen, Deputy Mayor Vincent Crisanti, Councillor Michael Thompson, Chris and Susan Hinn and Giacomo Parisi of Woodbine Mall.

This two day weekend event included cultural performances such as folk dance, Qi Pao dance, kung fu demonstration, live band performance by Hurricane, Miss Asia Talent Show, live music, giveaways, amazing food and fun filled entertainment that had families entertained. Sunday the 18th was also packed with entertainment including Chinese dance, circus variety show, lion dance and kung fu performance by National Wushu Champion Erica Li who is only 12 year old from Markham, and singing performance by Sherry Zhang who won the 2015 Voice of Guelph. Patrons definitely did not forget to check out the indoor amusement park with many rides, a 3-level play village and attractions, plus a 1911 carousel and the 50 new life-size Dinosaur replica in the Mall.

萬錦加華聯會及約克區加華聯會於9月18、19日（週六、日）在位於伊桃碧谷的活拜廣場舉辦了慶中秋嘉年華。儘管第一天遇到雨天，卻阻擋不了民眾的熱情，來自大多地區的表演者傾情演出及多個美食攤位吸引了不少觀眾捧場，共同渡過了一個特別的中秋節日。

活拜廣場中秋嘉年華活動特別邀請到香港歌手洪卓立不遠萬里來到活拜廣場舉辦了迷你音樂會，以及本地小明星Jeffrey Li特別客串。兩天的活動不停息地有中國文化表演，包括民族舞、旗袍表演、功夫演示、Hurricane現場樂隊表演，亞洲小姐才藝表演，還有禮品派發，各種美食。吸引了不少華人和大量西人前來參與。萬錦加華聯會和萬錦亞洲文化美食節主席吳建忠醫生表示，感謝萬錦華商會會員活拜廣場及其室內主體公園及道明銀行集團的大力支持，讓此次中秋慶祝活動得以順利進行，讓中國文化得以更深遠的傳播，讓更多人能認識中國文化。
