Asian Heritage Month Press Conference | May 8th, 2024 Brief History of Taste of Asia and Parliament Hill We are proud to announce that the national launch of the 22nd annual Taste of Asia press conference will be held at Parliament Hill on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, as a special reception in light of Asian Heritage Month. Taste of Asia is an annual event initiated by Dr. Ken Ng, Chairman of FCCM and Taste of Asia and the Honorable Mary Ng, the Minister responsible for international trade, export promotion, and economic development. Their desire for multiculturalism and diversity and pushed the existence of such diversity in cultures here in Markham and this special annual event. We hope for many more events like Taste of Asia where we can celebrate the diversity and unity of our community.

Chinese New Year 2024 Celebration with FCCM A Special Thank You To Our Community & Sponsors! To usher in the auspicious Year of the Dragon, the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham, sponsored by TD Canada Trust, hosted three Lunar New Year celebrations: at its Cultural Centre, Markham Civic Centre, and Vaughan. These events honored the historical and cultural heritage of Chinese traditions spanning thousands of years. The festivities included lion and dragon dances, as well as performances of traditional Chinese festive music. This annual Mid-Autumn Festival is organized by the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM). It is one of many events alongside the Taste of Asia event that FCCM has successfully organized for the past 17 years, with over 250,000 attendees of diverse backgrounds participating.
