March 31, 2018 MARKHAM— Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM) hosted “FCCM Appreciation Reception ” successfully at the new FCCM Chinese Cultural Centre located in King Square(9390 Woodbine Ave, Markham) on Saturday March 31, 2018 from 1 pm to 3 pm.

More than one hundred special guests attended this event at the new office of FCCM. Among the crowd there were many dignitaries including M.P. Mary Ng, Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Jack Heath(Deputy Mayor at City of Markham), Rachael Wong(District Vice President, Greater Toronto Region of TD bank), Regioal Councillor Nirmala Armstrong, Councillor Alex Chiu, Councillor Amanda Collucci, Councillor Alan Ho, York Region District School Board Trustee Carol Chan, and the representatives of the sponsors.

Dr. Ken Ng, Chairman of the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham gave us a warm welcoming speech to thank all supporters including community leaders, sponsors and all attending guests. Dr. Ken Ng announced that the new 10000 square foot FCCM Chinese Cultural Centre will be put into operation this year and introduced the design of this new site and the plan about how to provide better services including the Chinese cultural programmes, entertainment talent training and young entrepreneur programs at the new site with the innovative design. Meanwhile, he also reported on the lunar New Year dinner this year raising $100,000 and appreciated the sponsors and supporters of the event, in particular TD Bank, Respon International, Flato Development, King Square, Atlantis Development, Phoenix International, Chapel Ridge, and many others. A special appreciation was acknowledged to Mayor Scarpitti, Councillor Alex Chiu and Councillor Amanda Collucci for their combined contribution of $35,000 from their individual fundraising activities.

Dr. Ng looks forward to other supporters also stepping up to give their contributions this year.
In addition, Dr. Ken Ng look forward to collaborating with the new campus of York University being built In Markham, the Ryerson University, other institutions in Asia to provide the excellent education services and network for the members and affiliates of FCCM and its Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Markham, and the public.
M.P. Mary Ng, Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Rachael Wong of TD extended their greetings to congratulate FCCM and Dr. Ng for hosting the Chinese New Year Gala and the series of Celebration recently and appreciated the excellent organization for this Chinese New Year Gala and the efforts of Dr Ng, Mrs. Emily Ng and FCCM in promoting diversity. They would like to continue working with FCCM and supporting the development of the FCCM as the hub to help coordinate their services and support for the community.

In the reception, the guests tasted the delicacies food and enjoyed a pleasant social network at the pre-renovation new Chinese cultural site of FCCM.

一百多位客人參加了此次活動，其中包括很多貴賓包括萬錦加華聯會主席吳建忠醫生，國會議員伍鳳儀、萬錦市長薛家平、萬錦市副市長Jack Heath，加拿大道明銀行副總栽 Rachael Wong，區議員安思創，市議員趙善江、楊綺清、何胡景，約克區教育局委員Carol Chan和2018農曆新年晚宴的贊助商代表。

萬錦加華聯會主席吳建忠醫生在歡迎致辭中感謝包括社區領袖、贊助商和在場的所有支持者。吳建忠醫生宣佈加華聯會1萬平方呎新會址的即將在今年投入運營并介紹了王府井廣場新會址的設計和未來在此具有優良設施和創新設計的新會址將繼續為公眾提供包括中國文化才藝培訓及青年企業項目等服務；同時吳建忠醫生也向各位嘉賓通報了今年農曆新春晚宴共募集發展資金十萬元，並對本次農曆新年活動的贊助商和支持者，特別是加拿大道明銀行、瑞邦國際集團、Flato Development、王府井廣場、Atlantis Development、鯤鵬貸款、Chapel Ridge等，表示誠摯的謝意。他特別感謝薛家平市長及議員趙善江和議員楊綺清，他們聯合捐贈了3萬5千元，吳建忠醫生期望其他支持者亦能如他們一樣為加華聯會的發展貢獻力量。

另外，吳建忠醫生希望與在建的約克大學萬錦市新校區、瑞爾森大學和其他教育機構合作，為萬錦市加華聯會會員和附屬機構-萬錦市華商會及公眾提供優秀的教育服務。
