February 1st, 2017- On behalf of the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM), the Canadian Federation of Intercutural Friendship (CFIF), and Taste of Asia (TOA) Festival, Dr. Ken Ng is deeply saddened and is horrified by the terrorist shooting and massacre at the Sainte-Foy Mosque Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec in Québec City, which left six people dead and another 19 injured.  This was a cowardly, misguided, and horrific act that has no place in our country, nor does it reflect the shared values of our multicultural, diverse, and inclusive society regardless of faith or religion.

This act betrayed any and ALL principles valued and shared across this country and the many great religions of this land, including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism to name just a few.  The victims were in a place of worship, and in peace and harmony worshipping and praying as Canadians, fathers, husbands, brothers, sons of all of us, for all of us.  Our hearts and prayers firmly are with the families and community of our fallen and injured brothers and fellow citizens.
