October 08, 2017—Markham—The much anticipated TD/FCCM Mid-Autumn Thanksgiving Celebration at Pacific Mall has put on an fantastic Carnival, entertainment and activities.
The celebration featured a spectacular performance show including singing, Chinese ribbon dancing, fire guy show, amazing magic acts, Turkey giveaways and fun filled entertainment that had audiences and special guests entertained. The event also featured activity booths with lantern paper crafts, Autumn/Thanksgiving colouring sheets for kids, FUNtastic Thanksgiving carnival photo booth for all visiting families and honored guests.
Hundreds of guests gathered at Pacific Mall for the Mid-Autumn Thanksgiving celebration. Some special guests also attended this event, including MPP Hon. Michael Chan, MPP Soo Wong; Regional Councillor Nirmala Armstrong, Councillor Alan Ho & Mrs, Councillor Chin Lee, Councillor Amanda Yeung Collucci; Judy Yeung for MP Shaun Chen, MP Majid Jowhari; School Board Trustee YRDSB, Juanita Nathan; China Southern Airlines representative Jocelyn Zhang; Amar Erry, Zul Kassamali, Pat Howell, Ben Chan, Master Teresa Yeung, Leo and Arlene Chan, Helen Pert and York Region Police Inspector Chris Bullen, Sergeant Paul Chiang, Constable Mason Zhou.
Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, sent his warmest Thanksgiving and Mid-Autumn greeting to FCCM and Markham via Mary Ng, M.P. Markham-Thornhill. Richmond Hill MP, Majid Jowhari gave his greeting and presented the Prime Minister’s greeting to Dr. Ken Ng on Pacific Mall stage during this celebration. Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau mentioned in his greeting letter,’ The Mid-Autumn Festival is a celebration that traces its roots back more than a thousand years. It is more than a celebration of tradition, however, it is a time for us to come together with family and friends to give thanks for our fortune and look forward to many more years of success. ‘ , ‘As we look back over back over the span of our history, let us recognize the communities that have shaped our nation, including the many Chinese-Canadians who have greatly contributed to Canada throughout the past 150 years.’ and he also expressed his appreciation to the organizers of this amazing event and to all of people in attendance.
Dr. Ken Ng, Chairman of FCCM says, ‘Mid-Autumn Festival and Thanksgiving Day both are a special day in Chinese and western culture, and we can really appreciate family and friends. The most important, this year is Canada’s 150th anniversary, so we come together to appreciate Canada which is our beautiful country and home. We appreciate our all friends , especially appreciate our Co-Host – Pacific Mall which is a largest shopping centre in Canada, and FCCM’s Presenting Partner – The TD Bank Group’.
